The first step is to go to the YouTube website and open your internet browser’s search function. You can use the shortcut “Ctrl + F” on Windows or “⌘ + F” on Mac. From there, simply type the keyword or phrase so that the browser highlights the comment you’re looking for on the page.
However, there is another problem here. The YouTube website does not load all the comments at once, which means you have to scroll all the way to the end of the comments section to find a specific message.
The other option is to install a browser extension that makes it easier to search for comments. One example is YCS, which is available for free for Chrome and Firefox. Once installed, the extension will load between the video description and the comments section.
How to search for a comment you made
Now, if you are looking for a comment you made on a video, the quickest way is also through the YouTube desktop website.
When loading the website, click on the “History” option, available in the left menu of the platform. The message history can then be viewed by simply selecting the “Comments” option from the right menu. You will also need to utilize Chrome’s or Firefox’s search feature to look for a specific comment.
It could take several hours for a comment to be fully deleted from YouTube, according to the website.
